True Parents letter to the Vatican - April 5th, 2005

 Rev. and Mrs. Moon

Wolfgang and Arch Bishop Emmanuel Milingo

From: Reverend Dr. Sun Myung Moon and Mrs. Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon

Respected Members of the Curia, beloved Roman Catholic brothers and sisters, We send prayers and sincere condolences for Pope John Paul II, and our Roman Catholic family. We commend the great works and achievements of the Holy Father John Paul II, especially his courage in the God-led campaign against Militant Atheism, and his courage and wisdom promoting a "Culture of Life" to protect families and young people from the torrents of secularism, relativism, and spiritual self-destruction.
We embrace our Roman Catholic leaders and brothers and sisters while attending the living God, seeking His Kingdom and His Righteousness.
Dearest Roman Catholic leaders, history now requires that all religious and denominational division and conflict must end. We need complete peace and reconciliation so we can serve God and all people freely without obstacles. Roman Catholicism and Protestantism should fully reconcile as a loving family. Mere human effort cannot lead to this ideal of complete reconciliation and true peace. Guidance for this can come only from God. Therefore please pray fervently and humbly to ask God for guidance and answers. In this way we can realize God’s ideal world of peace.
May God protect the safe ascension of the Holy Father John Paul II, and may God embrace the Roman Catholic family with His love. May you find through your current deliberations that leader who will champion an ideal world of peace for God and for all people.
May God bless you,

Dr. and Mrs. Sun Myung Moon

John Paul II passing and the Vatican

The Vatican city

Dear brothers and sisters,

Yes,
True Parents letter is a gracious letter (above).  And at John Paul's passing it's certainly appropriate to offer something like this publicly. But that doesn't mean that Father Moon has no other feelings, desires, motives or hopes towards the Roman Catholic Church, which would contradict their own traditions on a day to day basis.
The fact, that Frank Kaufmann and others spent time teaching Archbishop Milingo the Divine Principles for 40 days, then Father Moon blessed him in marriage to one of our own faithful sisters, might suggest that he would do this for any Priest, Bishop or Cardinal who would show the same openness, come what may from the Vatican.

I don’t think, that Father Moon was as calm and gracious when Milingo was kidnapped and deprogrammed or whatever it was, they did to him.

Father is obviously not opposed to rattling their cages and making them think twice when the opportunity arises. I would think that the Milingo incident did just that. (---I don’t understand that either.)

Please note also, that Father Moon signed the letter, "Dr. and Mrs. Sun Myung Moon"
"True Parents of Heaven and Earth".

Let's hope, this letter gets passed around widely in the Vatican, because they need to read it as often as possible and get used to the idea, "True Parents of Heaven and Earth".

My views what Pope Benedict XVI should do

This election of a new Pope from Germany came also as a big surprise to me. This is the last thing l wanted. Personally, I wanted the new Pope to come from South America or Africa.

With our dark German history in the last century of WW II, the new German Pope, Benedict XVI, knows this very well. He is considered to be a well-known theologian among all faiths.
I think, he should initiate dialogues especially with Jewish and Islamic leaders.
I also think, that this new German Pope, Benedict XVI, should go to Israel and other countries in Europe as soon as possible and apologize for the atrocities committed by the Fascist German Government to our Jewish brothers and sisters during WWII.

Sincerely, I would!

Apology must come from the person (or country) that did something wrong. It must be sincere, real and true. If it cannot come from the person who did it, then at least it should come from their children or someone who can represent that person.

Germans have mixed feelings about the new German Pope. This time, however, we as Germans with this German Pope can clean up the bad historical record and contribute something good to the world.

Pope Benedict XVI (Joseph Ratzinger) knows this very well.

I also hope and pray, that the Roman Catholic Church headed by this new Pope will get friendlier towards True Parent's and the worldwide Unification Church family.
