About the value of the NM list
My dear brothers and sisters,
I would like to share a few lines with you concerning the value of this
list. UTS is offering now study courses via internet, we know of the virtual
classroom where students meet... and our "daily" connecting point is the NM
web or this list.
The question is how well do we use it and for what purpose. We have each our
personal situations and it may not be easy for some of us to spend time on
the internet or on the computer but the basic question always remains as a
personal challenge: "How much time do we spend for what task?"
There is no doubt that we belong to the group of people in this world who
are rather busy, who invest a lot, who work hard, but underneath all of our
activities the question about the efficiency of our work remains always
present. We do not harvest usually as much as we sow or the results of our
efforts do not esily become visible as we are doing primarily a spiritual
work.
This realm does not depend on how much time we invest for it but on the
quality of our investment. Many of us are busy with a job or with raising
funds for our families and other more external activities but they are not
the ones which determine mainly the outcome of our efforts but our attitude
behind them.
Even though we know this there is quite a wide difference in the personal
standards which each one of us achieved in this respect. It is my conviction
that this list is a gift from God according to the merit of the age on an
external level which we are invited to use for the sake of supporting each
other internally.
It has been founded for such a purpose as Jonathan, the list owner, wrote
and I am more than ever certain that it is the desire of our beloved
Heavenly Father to guide and support each other also centered on this list
through which 123 NM families are connected at this time.
The contributions of Bruno for daily inspirational readings and reflections
have been appreciated by many and the value of this list as a whole is
agreed upon by the majority of its members but I am concerned about how much
we are actually using its potential.
In the few recent posts the value of the Today's Word magazine has been
touched upon and I am of course a fan of this publication. My financial
situation did not allow it that I could order it for my family directly so I
am reading it when I am visiting others or lending it from somebody...
Just as this magazine with its positive news is a source of inspiration for
many members worldwide I am certain that this list can also serve as a
source of inspiration for the NM community.
On whom does it depend to make it happen? On each one of us, on our
contributions, on what we offer to this public list of our 'NM family.'
Julian wrote about the Today's World magazine "We try to deal with the
complex issues Father deals with and speaks about, and shed some light on
them. We try to show the direction the providence is taking, mapping the
trends, I suppose."
What about God's providence centered on National Messiahs? Does it not exist
just as well as a most central part of God's work at this time? Whose
responsibility is this special mission? Is it our True Parents' and should
they speak about it a lot or is it our mission and our responsibility to
find out how we can fulfill it in the best possible way?
We know the answers to these questions well, but how much do we draw the
conse- quences from them? We have to make it happen and "together we can"as
our brother Paul put in big letters at the top of the NM web page so that we
may be reminded of it again and again whenever we open it - that this page
is waiting for our contributions.
What may seem a problem to some, my "dominating this list too much" can
easily be resolved by those members of this list investing more than me into
the common task of this medium which allows us all to share freely with one
another? Let us use this opportunity and share indeed more about internal
realities. The external ones are discussed enough on the daily news. It is
not what isvhappening on that level which determines the progress of God's
providence but how many people our True Parents have who are fully united
with them.
Let us therefore support each other in deepening our relationship with them
and in understanding their heart deeper than ever before. We each represent
a unique relationship with our Heavenly Father and the more we are ready to
share about it with one another the more we will be able to naturally learn
from one another and achieve as a whole on the level of National Messiahs a
much higher standard.
Our True Parents have talked so very much about Tribal Messiahip, a whole
book has been dedicated to this topic of the '12 Hoondokhae series.' But so
little has been said by True Father about National Messiahship. My answer as
to why is clearly because it is our responsibility to find out what such a
national level of responsibility means, what it includes, how we can best
fulfill it...
And for this common challenge our NM list is a most precious possibility to
share deeply with one another about these issues in order to support each
other to fulfill our respective missions in the best possible way.
Let us use this 'holy' list as it has been called therefore more than ever
for this very purpose!
In gratitude to all members of this list. |
